Poison Oak Rash Pictures
Contact dermatitis is an irritation of the skin produced by an allergic reaction after contact, usually with small foreign substances can penetrate the skin.
Urishiol oil, which can be found on the sap of poison oak, is among the substances that are the most common source of these rashes of contact dermatitis.
It is accepted that contact dermatitis is the more frequent the older the patient and in adults is considered a fairly common disease. However, this is not a unique process of adults, on the contrary, is a problem more common than thought in children assuming about twenty percent of dermatitis in childhood.
There are a lot of predisposing factors for the appearance of contact dermatitis. Among the most important are:
- Ability of the substance to penetrate the skin and cause allergies.
- The previous damage to the skin (contact dermatitis is more common for example in children with atopic dermatitis who are already in itself altered skin and through it can penetrate the allergens).
- Degree of dryness or moisture of the skin.
- Genetic factors.
- Degree of environmental temperature and humidity.
Keep in mind that a child suffering from this process is somewhat more prone to suffer from contact dermatitis due to new substances in the future. So, avoid having excessive contact with irritants such as urishiol oil.
